Invisalign FAQ
Invisalign is effective for a wide range of cases including crowding, spacing, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite. The best way to know is a free consultation with Dr. Boller, who will evaluate your teeth and bite and give you an honest recommendation.
Treatment time varies by case. Most patients complete Invisalign in 12 to 18 months, though some mild cases can be completed in as little as 6 months. Dr. Boller will give you a personalized estimate at your consultation.
For best results, aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours per day. They are removed only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing and flossing.
Invisalign is highly effective for a wide range of orthodontic cases. For certain complex situations, traditional braces may be recommended. Dr. Boller will assess your specific needs and recommend the best option for your goals.
Contact our office right away. We can typically order a replacement aligner or move you to your next set depending on where you are in treatment. It’s a good idea to keep your previous set as a backup.
Rinse your aligners with lukewarm water every time you remove them. Brush them gently with a soft toothbrush and mild soap. Avoid hot water, which can warp the plastic. Invisalign also makes a dedicated cleaning system.
Most patients adjust within a few days. There may be a slight lisp at first, but it typically resolves quickly as you get used to wearing the aligners.
